Sailing. Destroying cans,
that scent of gunpowder after the shot.
Swimming in early summer.
Pre-dawn moments where the world is flat and gray.
A Fender Mustang,
a detuned Wurlitzer piano,
a dreadnought acoustic.
The live shows of Metallica:
propane flames that roar ten feet high
and change color with the music.
Fishing.
Fireworks, firecrackers, bonfires, fire.
Hours of my life, barefoot on a rocky beach, searching for sea glass.
Years in the old cabin by the same shoreline.
The thrill of the moment
before you hit the ground.
