Sound of Rain

In my basement I hear you drip,
Each droplet louder and louder,
My heart rate faster and faster,
My body grows tense.

I hear your pounding louder and louder,
Screaming, thrashing, lashing,
I freeze in awe to what I have become,
A monster.

I get sick of your screaming and pointless begging,
Should have though twice before flooding my life,
Tears and pain is all that you’ve caused,
But todays a new day no room for more flaws.

You took over my life with your unexpected rages,
But now it’s my turn, yes I am in charge,
You took over me today but not tomorrow,
You’ve never felt guilt and have never felt sorrow,
You are a monster and so am I.

I give the final blow knocking you down,
Blood drains out of your lousy face frown,
I dispose of your body far from here,
Yet I still here that dripping, almost like rain.

But it doesn’t rain it pours down into my soul,
I’m flooding again yet once more,
You still cause me pain, so much I can’t stand,
I dug up your body from the dark clay sand.

I cover your corpse with gasoline,
Flames, fire, and much burning,
But still I sense you’re still there,
Making it rain from the dark grey clouds,
You put the fire out,
Drip by drip rain runs down my face,
Drip by drip it runs into my soul.
