“If you love a flower, don’t pick it up. Because if you pick it up it dies and it ceases to be what you love. So if you love a flower, let it be. Love is not about possession. Love is about appreciation.” -Osho

Her eyes are the fallen leaves of October.
The grey skies that clear up,
once the rain has fallen.
The fiery wind combined with the crisp blue and white sky.
Every day is Monday.
The winds of dedication, burned into her cheeks
Her face is fragile and cold
A million thoughts,
a thousand fears and yet still a smile.
The end of her day is the beginning of ours.
Wise to her years, she has every answer.
Like an owl, she hunts at night hoping she’ll see the next day.
When she makes a note, she smiles and reconnects with the mad world.
The coldness felt in her heart suddenly transforms into a fiery passion
Determination takes her and her eyes finally turn blue
After the leaves have fallen,
the fire starts and we can finally feel what was missing.
The one thing that we never knew the feeling of.
Our faith, and what we get after the pain is gone.
Hope.

The inspiration of this poem is from my mom. A hard working and dedicated woman who would do absolutely anything to keep my brother and I happy and healthy. I hope that people understand how hard working their parents are.
