dangerous
Pushed into the water, i’m climbing that rope
non-stop for days on end as i work my way up
the instructor yelling at us to suffer in silence
We’re down on the ground again, push-ups that never end
i look over to dave crying as he rises
he rings the bell, he’s leaving
“Another weakling leaves us” says the master sergeant
as i rise, i’m exhausted, i’m beaten, i’m bruised
but i remember what the instructors keep saying
“This is designed to hurt”
“This is designed to hurt”
“This is designed to hurt”
“Suffer in silence”
“Suffer in silence”
over and over and over and over again
