Derby Time

Derby Time, the time to party
The time to dress up
The time to wear funny looking hats
With the fancy clothes
The bets roll in
Its as if the money flies away
Difficult to pick a horse
Trying your luck again and again

The starting gate rolls out
The whole state watching, united
Awaiting the starting bell
The anticipation kills
The bell goes off
The start if a two minute race
Screaming and yelling
The horses blaze down the track
In an instant its over
People pour out
Sad or glad
With money in their pockets
Or without
It doesn’t matter, everyone wins at Derby Time
