I was drifting,
unraveling into the deep
with no anchor to keep me afloat

Day and night the same
My own thoughts fleeting brush strokes
Of an impressionist painter
Words and ideas beyond my grasp
My own thoughts fleeting brush strokes

I was a walking amnesiac
Each moment an awakening
To my own existence
Each moment an oblivion
With only void behind

I was in limbo,
Marooned on a scrap of time
With nothing except now

Days and nights the same
My own past and future a vacuum
With no words or thoughts
Asleep without dreaming

I was drifting,
unraveling into the deep
but floating still.
