"Why try to fit in when you were born to stand out?"

Poetic.
Love brings out the poet in all of us
It makes us pair similes with hyperboles about how fast we start to fall
And the names tatted in our hearts
Love is the lullaby we sing softly between salty tears as our hearts tear from its ugliness.
Yes love is beautiful but its hideous side always prevails in my eyes
Bad always seems to devour good, the dark engulfs light
Demons eat white-winged angels as they cry out, their final sounds heart-wrenching wails that are swallowed whole by evil.
Love is evil and wicked, irrational
My god sent his only son to suffer at the hands of the same men he wanted to save,
Men he was trying to give a second chance to
His only son.
That love scares me makes me reject its mythical greatness and accept it for what it is.
Terrifying.
Love is a terrifying beast, perhaps the stuff of legends
Monsters that haunt our dreams and drench us in a cold sweat of fear
Invisible monsters that seem to sneak up on us and snatch our hearts from our sleeves and devour our souls
Love is poison that slowly slips into your veins
Killing you softly, slowly
Love is brave. Love is strong. Love is perverse. Love is wrong
I don’t want love. I reject it. I don’t want hate but I’ll accept it 'cuz I understand what hate is, but what is love?

The author's comments:
I have always been intrigued by the topic of love and what others have had to say on it. Often it's all rainbows and butterflies. I wanted to challenge people to see a different side of this thing called love and perhaps even realize that they are just as unsure about it as I am.
