"When inspiration does not come to me, I go halfway to meet it." Sigmund Freud

A man once told me the tale of a missing sailor at sea
He said the sky was as dark as night with a storm as vicious as a thousand lions

With the sky lit only by lightning, a boat was overturned by massive waves
The sailor woke up the arms of a beautiful maiden

The maiden promised him life in return of his trust
With his wife and children at home, he reluctantly agreed

The man said as the storm passed, the maiden brought Jack near the shore
“I’ll show you a ravishing part of the sea” she promised with a cunning smile

Before reaching shore, the beautiful maiden and Jack dove into the brink
The bottomless waters engulfed them and he was never seen again

A man once told me the tale of a missing sailor at sea
He said no one would ever discover the missing sailor, and the beautiful maiden killer

This is the rewritten poem of "A Sailor's Story" which I originally wrote in 2009.
