A Forecast
December 4, 2013
I do not need cold weather to feel frozen today,
my teeth could be chattering
and my cheeks could be fuscia;
but i can still bite my tongue so hard that unsesnsored thoughts
spill from my mouth, staining my turtleneck
"oh dear, there goes my soliloquy."
It wouldn't make a difference:
my scarf will not protect me
from the bitterness
and my gloves will not mask the sky.
so here is the forecast:
I am here
and you are there.
Cold weather, indeed.
