Deep Dark Ocean

I take a deep breath.
its a feeling that i’ve
never felt before,
but not enough to stop me.
adrenaline rushes
through my entire body,
between every microscopic vein
streaming its way
to the heart
where it then becomes
annihilated.

all that is felt
is unbearable pain,
running back
through every vein
to my fingertips.

I notice how inhaling
becomes exceedingly difficult
with every breath I take
almost as if i’m drowning,
slowly sinking
into a deep abyss

Im on the dance team and have been for 4 years now. its extremely important to me and during my sophomore year, i had a lot of heart issues and this is basically describing how i felt as i performed during a basketball game.
