The waxing moon
burns a hole in the sky
as tiny starlights prick my eyes.

The silent night is punctured
by the ticking of the clock,
a passing of time I cannot feel.

And the elusive lunar moth,
refusing to grant repose,
passes me over again.

Another endless night
melts into morning
and I rise with the sun.
