Maine
The familiarity of the salt,
Brought back melancholy memories,
Of chocolate covered gummy bears,
Cheetos, seashells, blankets and seagulls.
The memory of a promised dog,
The potential of a brand new piercing,
The endless view of the beautiful beach,
The slightly broken fingers and toes.
The funny stories fill up the night time,
along with the loud snores and creaky old beds,
The secret laughter hidden from the dark,
Between two sisters that became friends.
This friendship that was created to end,
The blood that has always been shared,
Was made infinite in those dark moments,
As we became more then sisters, now friends.
