The Silence of a Storm

The clouds rumble and lightning strikes
And the rain, oh, the rain
Coming from the dark clouds that cover the sky so no blue shows,
No beams of light
The only light anyone can see is the light of the treacherous lightning.
Never letting a second pass without it flashing
Like a roaring ocean,
Crashing against rocks
Not leaving an inch dry
And when it’s done,
There is a silence everywhere
Like there’s now peace.
