What I've Seen In My Dreams
The sky above us
shone in the brightest
of reds and pinks,
as if it were a perfect painting,
a halcyon display.
The sun sunk down
below the horizon
to hide from us
for another night,
and we found ourselves
under the moonlight
held by its luminescent beams
once again.
It feels like years ago,
we found each other,
in this spot where we lay,
day to day.
In the very spot
where we found love,
sparking as bright
as the stars,
leaving an astral display
in the sky covering us,
surrounding us,
blanketing us
in the comforting dark.
The dark that holds the serene
wolves' howl, my lullaby
as the plush grass engulfs me
into an eternal sleep,
I find myself in the comfort
of my own home,
awakening in a daze,
and I realize that
you are only a figment of my dreams,
I cannot take you with me.
