Somebody’s Secret (revised)

Reached out attempting rescue feeling a hand slip past that the darkness took,
Before I said “Don’t go” words echo “It’s not your fault”,
Perplexed I collapsed with an expressionless look,

Head down deeply into the ground and bright smiles were wiped clean,
All existence seemed to began to halt,

Your copper colored eyes tell the story of neediness to lean, (on somebody)

It’s been too long without an everyday reminder of how that act became kinder,
Lives pass dreadfully far away, not only that, my eyes well up with cobalt,

Hugging tightly to a hidden legend that made me a little blinder,

Time opens a gateway for once to hear that familiar voice echoing “Hello”,

Old scares sting from that sight poured salt,
Without radiance in front of me, love grows a paler clone,

Time lies silent between us when I realize what I hadn't long ago,
Don’t use excuses of being anymore of an adult,
Sitting in the dark, none of that wisdom was bestowed,

Warm smiles returned as a conversation limply start,
Insecurity never expressed which was held hidden in a vault,
My heart fluttering as a shot bird from a piercing dart,

Its been awhile since an expression was seen,
Surely I’ll be our secret that will go unseen,
Slightest doubts if you know what thoughts were pent up since I was fifteen.

Heaven let me think it was you, that fien.

Somebody’s Secret (first version)

Head stuck in a book, pencil swiftly scratching away solving problems with a soft look,
Before I said “Don’t go” something echoed “It’s not your fault”,

Head down deeply into the ground, and bright smiles of yours were wiped clean,
Your copper colored eyes tell the story of what became lean,

It’s been too long without an everyday reminder of how that act became kinder,
Hugging tightly to a hidden legend that made me a little blinder,

Lives pass dreadfully far away not reaching a milestone,
Without that radiance in front of you, nothing will show,

Time opens a gateway for once to hear that familiar voice again echoing as you say “hello”,
Time lies silent between us when I realize what I hadn’t long ago,

Warm smiles returned as a conversation limply start,
What an inexcusable thing to ignore; my heart fluttering like a bird hit by a dart,

Its been awhile since an expression was seen,
Surely I’ll be our secret that will go unseen,
There are even the slightest doubts that again
you know what I wanted to say since I was fifteen.
