I’m sitting on the porch outside,
with my knees to my chest.
You aren't there.
I’m watching the rain,
splattering like tears falling from my face,
Expecting you to wrap your arms around me,
whispering ”You’ll be alright.”
You aren't there.
I close my eyes.
Dreaming of better days.
Days when you were here.
I open my eyes.
You aren't there.
