Then I would have to conclude that my timing to retrieve you was wrong

I’ve let you sit in the oven for too long

Most likely your love for me has been dried of its sweet juices

Then I was late for a scheduled appointment

Another has swooped in to take my spot

So I would have to wait till you feel you’re ready to see me

Or reschedule me to another date or for a later time
