The mind is a lonely place.
It drags you down into deep thought.
The mind is a lonely place.

I get lost in my mind a lot.
It can be toxic, you know.
It drags you down into deep thought.

Once you’re in its grasp, it doesn’t let go.
And trust me, the mind holds tight.
It can be toxic, you know.

Sometimes I wonder what is right.
The mind knows what is going on.
And trust me, the mind holds tight.

Sometimes, I wish I was just gone.
It sometimes tries to sweep me away.
The mind knows what is going on.

I think we can be free, one day.
The mind is a lonely place.
It sometimes tries to sweep me away.
The mind is a lonely place.

I was just curious about different formats of poetry, so I tried writing a terzanelle poem. This is the resulting mess.
