Whether silt,
rising from water sickens the dead,

Whether corroding metal,
scours the craftsman’s hands,

Whether besmirched books,
dimwit connoisseurs,

As murky dusk overshadows minds,

The once lively hearts now turn,

Misty queries, from afar they ring,

Why open minds fail to prevail,

Whether covetousness is just what we allow,

Because judgment will not simply befall

The author's comments:
This poem attempts to poke fun at snap judgements that people make because usually they're not very logical. However the effects of discrimination are very serious. It also implies that judgment does not occur randomly but because we allow it to exist.
