blinking back tears,
i shouldn't be sad-
she's not.

crying
for someone i just knew-
now someone i want to know, really.
too late,
she's left us, gone now.

listening to memories,
recalling my own.
thinking
of her smile,
her voice.
what made her happy.

i know
she's not gone forever.
someday,
i'll be able to
ask her my
questions-
but it still hurts.

i rarely said it,
those three
magic words.
i will now,
loud-
so she can hear.

i
love
you.
see you in eternity.

This piece is dedicated to my Great Grandma Elaine. She died about 6 months ago, and I didn't know her as well as I would have liked.
