4th of July
On our way to Rolla’s fair
to watch the fireworks and ride rides.
There’s people walking around
and looking up at the dark sky.
The strong scent of axe clone
and trash fill the air, along with
hamburgers and hotdogs and
everything else that’s there.
You can hear the fireworks
snap crackle pop,
as it pours down
beautiful colors above our heads,
then suddenly stops.
My boyfriend pulls me closer,
as the night sky ignites.
From all the blues reds and purples
that sparkle threw the night.
Best way to spend a Thursday night.
