O High School! My High School!
O High School! My High School! Our careers here are done;
The hallways are messy, summer is in our sight;
Graduation is near, the last bells I hear, the seniors are frantic,
While the diplomas wait, the bleachers turning cold:
But O Heart! Heart! Heart!
Class ranks are jumbled,
Administration is falling apart,
Oh no, the teachers mumbled.
O High School! My High School! Please sort out your paperwork;
Organize--grades depend on you--with you comes graduation;
For you baskets of goodies--for you the students bring them in;
For you we need, hundreds of students, our faces in anticipation;
Here High School! Dear School!
The importance behind your meaning;
It is a nightmare cry the teachers,
My grades are all receding.
PowerSchool doesn’t open, the system is shut down;
Computers are not responding, no life behind the screens;
The hallways are finally cleared, lockers locked and closed;
From this difficult year, each class, ends with ultimate success;
Elate, O region, and ring, O bells!
But I, waiting with anxiousness,
Practice the graduation walk,
With tentative hope for success.
