A Sacrifice

To be happy
Is a sacrifice
Made for the benefit
Of others
A perfect smile
My face aglow
A perfect mask not to show
Pain
If I burn happy energy
It is absorbed
By those around me
They need it more than
I do
So what is a little pain,
If they all thrive?
What is embarrassment,
If it betters their lives?
I'm seen a joke
I act a fool
Far from the smart,
Pretty, and cool
But every class must have a clown
To lift them up when they feel down
So, you think I'm weird,
Funny, and nice
Please appreciate my
Sacrifice
