To Feel Abandoned

I rather be around you and know peace,
Than to be without you and be full of anger,
I want us to walk in the light side-by-side,
Than me alone in the darkest of places.
To be full of laughter and joy,
Not of sadness and regret.
To smile and be smiled at,
Than to smile and be frowned upon.
With you I know love,
I know happiness,
Without you I only know pain,
I know void,
I’m filled with sadness,
I feel abandoned.
