Addiction
Some people around me question all that I do
They mock and make fun of the things I hold true
Yet I’m thankful to God for what he has made of me
Because they’re shaking their shackles as they say they are free
How ironic is addiction, which binds you so fast
Forcing your future to turn in to your past
Struggling each day to try to pass the test
Yet sleeping through the sermons of the one who loves you best
No longer awake; but dead in transgression
Unable to harness the power of progression
Though pride may have succeeded and drowned out your voice,
Remember remember
You still have a choice
