Old Times
There was a little girl with the world ahead of her
The sun and moon surrounding, holding her adventures
The back roads she walked on for endless nights
Looking up at the stars and felt safe
The sound of the wind as it blew through her hair
She knew everything felt right
She could do as she pleased and whenever she decided
She was in control of her choices
She would spend days at a time trying to find the big dipper
Trying to learn how to whistle and skip
Hopping and singing
Playing ‘Traffic Light’
The time she played ‘Mother May I’ before the bus came
She had slipped in some mud, yelled her grandmother’s name
The time she jumped on the trampoline
She played
She laughed
She screamed
With relatives and friends she made up games
Oh the memories they share
Will be with her forever, even when they aren't there
The old times and the new times will never wither away
Memories only prosper
Never do they fade
Those childish times when they danced in the rain
When they rode their bikes
Went a little insane
They would get in minor trouble
For endless reasons as to why
Not learning their lesson, they gave it another try
