No glasses to fit this
near-sighted prescription
Closed minds locking in the gray-matter ignorance

Yet we who have 20-20 vision
Still refuse to be peacemakers
Never trying to walk a mile in shoes that fit someone else
Is our sight narrowing?

Those who can't see change
are innocent
Taught that 2+2 can only equal 4
Taught to see shape, but colorblind

Those who won't see change are worse
Taught to see everything, blocking out things they don't like
Still forgivable, but not always forgiven
Ignoring the beauty of color that they can see
Not colorblind, but trying to fit into a world of gray

It's us, the ones who see shape and color, who have the ability
To change the world
Taught not to be ignorant, but
to see the world clearly
But we still look through tinted lenses, allowing color but not all of it
to shine through
Maybe the world is black, red, green
Maybe we do see it clearly
Or maybe 20-20 vision is just another way to say we're blind
Just as blind as everyone else

No glasses large enough to fit these
Open minds
Locking out the gray matter that others try to share
Not just sightless
But hypocrites too
