Pastel Ghosts of a Different Dimension

I remember our long talks and how I’d never understand a thing you’d say
But I enjoyed them all the same
I remember how your accent always made me smile whenever you would speak
It renders me a clean-cut pain

I remember all those times you’d fall asleep if there’s a pillow in your sight
Now I wish I woke you up every time
And though these memories, they tear at me and make me wish I’d been old enough to care
My eyes are clean and dry

Cause you
You felt a pain, it knifed through you every time you time you breathed
And now you’re flying free
And you
Those memories of blood and wounds are simply washed away
Now you’re feeling good enough to run and sing and play

Don’t cry
It’s not exactly like you died
With your last breath, your face was peace
And it turned into this hollow thing
And your spirit soared
That pastel ghost
Joining in with all those heavenly hosts

And years from now, you’ll be up there
Saying “it’s okay, you were too young to care
It’s alright. Breathe easier, dear.
I’m perfectly alright up here.”
