flames rise, caress the sky
smoke spreads, smogs the air
paper burns, blackening--words unreadable
watching, tears sliding downwards
remaining ruins.
life's work--destroyed.

I was writing from an author's perspective witnessing the destruction occurring in the novel Fahrenheit 451 (written by Ray Bradbury). Hope you like it!
