There's no such thing as peace anymore so untie your hands from the plow
Conscience is buried deep, so sharpen the blades, prepare your ground
This is no romance with nature, so run home and make love with your sadness
Everyone acts thankful 'round here
once a year
So clap your hands and show your gladness

I really like that the poem builds up rythmically until it reaches the finale, where it stops smoothly.

I loved this. The extensive use of metaphors and use of the figurative language here is played quite well. The words slip off your tongue smoothly, and it sounds so poetic, very nice job!
