Storms

the storm is approaching but why do I feel so calm
I am motionless as it surrounds me
is it fear or something else that glues me here
as I watch the storm I lay in it's path but why has it stopped
I look toward the storm and I am washed over with safety and familiar
but I look around and I see the people I know and love
yelling over for me to join them away from this storm
is the storm I see before me my inner thoughts
or is it something else luring me to a new beginning
I am in a cross road between this storm and my love ones
I take a step, but sop for what if my choices hurt someone
I face my fears and begin to walk
the sound of the storm fade as I come back to my family
once again

A great idea to write about! Love the metaphors and how at the end the narrator finds her family after facing "the storm." Beautiful piece :)

It reminds me somwhat of Frost's poem "The Road Not Taken." I think a lot of readers will relate to this poem, as I did. Sometimes, we're going through hard times, but, at times, we act indifferently. Not allowing the storms to disuade us. It's empowering and hopeful.

Never be afraid to follow the path fate puts you on and you will always be loved  when you need it most even when you leave them behind they are in your heart.  This is wonderful as all your poems
