The Storm
A rumble fills the air
Tumbling blues and greens glare
The land is met with a crash and a burn
As the rumbling giants churn
A sea of angry waves I see
Inside of you and me
And everyone else
They rip away
At every memory of happiness, laughter, and life
Till all that is left is broken shards of memories
And the emptiness and despair
Even selfishness does not want to share
They snare at what is left

Until it has become every person for himself
The fragile thread of trust is twisted
Till it never even existed
Happiness becomes depression
Laughter becomes tears
Life becomes an empty hollowness
It is what is left of you and me

The storm rages on

After every dusk, there is a dawn
When the ship long lost and forgone
Will salvage

Despite the storm inside
There is life, laughter
And happily ever afters
