i often find myself wondering
if the trees miss the leaves in fall
they spend two inseparable seasons together
and then the leaves run away for two more
just like you do
and i wait and wait like a pathetic tree who is stuck
forever in the same place
until you come back finally from your freedom
after the cold winter passes
but when you do, you're different
and every time you change
by the time i recognize who you are
you leave again
