"But she turned around and I love her for that because it made her so human"--Kurt Vonnegut "Slaughter House Five"

We will be so good to each other
Just another clichéd romance
Something to do without regret
Not another Romeo and Juliet
I’m not thirteen and that’s just wrong
Not another Taylor Swift teenage-love song
Maybe something like Cleopatra and Marc Antony
Except I’m not a queen and you’re not military
Though I wouldn’t object if you called me ‘majesty’
We could be like Orpheus and Penelope
Traverse the globe just to be with me
But if you turn to swine I swear to the gods
I will never again proudly call you mine
I can be the angel you travel through hell for
Virgil at your forward and the sinful at your door
Come along, little Dante, to face who you adore
Through hell and heaven and purgatorio
Just traverse a little more!
After all, we’re both a part of this Divine Comedy
Or maybe if you’re feeling brusque to pester
I’ll be the Eyre to your Rochester
Except I have parents
If you think these allusions are too errant
I will express these sentiments a little more modernly
I’m not using Twilight because I’d be Bella Swan
And anyone that calls me that will be dead before dawn

I guess we’re like Ron and Hermoine
With the strongest romantic tension since book three
We’ll be like the Ponds, season six
The whole of universe to travel, just for kicks
Be the detective to my soldier
You won’t have to be a loner
Be the hunter to my angel
Keep me sane and keep me stable
I can’t keep my eyes from the pages
A romance that’s survived through the ages
In the books you’d be my Jonathan
And I can be your lovely Mina
Only death is not in our plan
Except I don’t mind bats
Or blood
So yeah
I guess I can say this could be
Our great nerd romance
So live a little, take a chance
There’s nothing better than brainy love
Not in death or paradise above
I guess what I want to say
Is that you’re you
And I am me
Not another clichéd romance
Not something found in the books
Something that’s just as easy as it looks
Just you and I in this literary romance
A little slice of Paradise
(--Lost because I secretly have a soft spot
For fallen angels and misunderstood villains
And you love me anyway because I’m an emotional fool
And you’re a fool that loves emotional fools like me )

Just a cheesy, literature love poem.
