M that's all it is, an initial

a letter in the alphabet

bold and clear

in my mind

on the page

against my tears

M the letter without a name

the name without a memory

the shape without a story

that's all that remains, at least

inside my heart

and on my ears

Love the sparse structure of the poem--like the letter m! Raises questions about whether m is part of your name, Hannah, or from a person perhaps you never knew or have lost. Please write more poetry--you have a very strong and confident voice!

I love the contrast between the letter's apparent insignificance and its high impact. The writer uses an effective descriptive technique in naming not only what the letter is, but what it's not. More strategic use of punctuation would enhance the poem's effectiveness.
