My First and last love poem

I've never been able to write a love poem
1 part because I didn't think i'd ever be able to do you justice
2 parts because I know my words are perminant ,
and I wanted enough room for both of us to leave
if this ever got suffocating

But
We're in too deep
we're too far gone
we're a drowning ship in the middle of the pacific
we're both titanics with iceburg shoulders
and warning signals that came too late
when we thought ourselves invicible

4 and half years ago
we met each other for the first time
by the end of the night
there was bond so deep
i could feel it ringing in my dna

3 years later I learned
that the friend zone isn't forever
but you are
And I've never been able to describe
your smile perfectly cause
I often get it confuzed with hope filled sunrises
on the mornings
when I don't know what I'm waking up for

Your laugh reminds me
of flirty bar tunes and candle lighting
intoxicating and comforting
like the irish pubs
my great great grandfather used to sit in

your heart beat
reminds me of the pounding of drums
and smashing of tomatoes
for italian dinners
the squishing of grapes my ancestors
picked on thier vinyard back in Italy
home

Your eyes show me of everything I've ever loved
and the things i've forgotten
to love about myself

You remind me of where i come from
and when I hold your hand
I know where i'm going

Our fingers have grown so close to one another
that they've started to mold together
like ying and yang
I've begun to finding myself in parts of you
and some days its your firm hand
thats keeps everything from slipping away

And I've never been able to write a love poem
1 part because I didn't think i'd ever be able to do you justice
2 parts because I was scared to say it
because I know my words are perminate
and I didn't want you to have enough room to just leave
if this ever got suffocating

But
We're in too deep
we're too far gone
we're a drowning ship in the middle of the pacific
we're both titanics with iceburg shoulders
and warning signals that came too late
when we thought ourselves invicible

4 and half years ago
we met each other for the first time
and by the end of the night
there was a bond so deep
that I still hear it ringing today
