Favorite Quote:
"Defeat is only bitter once you swallow it".

From the fake heart felt condolences,
To the fake reassurances.
From the sheer heights of the Everest,
Till the depths of the falls.

Through the bad times of all,
Convincing for the best.
Pretense of a genuine future,
Ensuring you on being a misfit.

The mystery of betrayal remains unknown,
So does its misery.
From birth till mortality, it's all just a game.
Till you realize, you are in the abode of God.

In an attempt to not face it, disgrace it,
Because chances are rare and forgiveness is never.
What remains forever is the guilt beneath the shame.

This may just be my favorite poem so far. :) The line "from the fake heart felt condolences" gave me goosebumps. Beautiful. I love how the lines/stanza ratio varies, it gives the poem a nice texture that leaves the reader wanting more and hanging off every line. Wonderful job!
