I write this for you
I do not write my poetry
For myself
I write if for you.
I write it for everyone
Who has ever felt
Even a fraction of
My emotions.
I write it for those who
Want to express how they feel
But simply can’t
Find the right words.
I write it for every
Woman
Who has ever felt
Used
And
Unloved.
I write it for every
Man
Who has ever
Been misunderstood.
I write it for every
Child
Who has ever
Suffered the terror
Of hearing their parents’
First fight.
I write it for every
Teenager
Who has ever felt
Alone
And
Unworthy of love.
I write it for
The world.
The world
May never see this poem
But I write it
In the hopes
That someone,
Anyone
Will read this
And realize that
They are not
The only ones who feel
These emotions.
