The Cry
A child cries,
His voice is stifled;
He's far away,
Away from the dreams,
He was promised;
Away from the meadows,
Away from the sun,
That lifts the mist,
Away from the bright blue sky,
That asks,
Come and reach me;
Away from the grass,
That calls for his little growing feet,
To play upon it,
Away from the sea and sand;
His life like the transient sand castles,
Wastes away with time;
Time like water destroys everything he'd known,
As it flows;
He cries and cries again,
As his own voice suffocates him,
He cries again,
Beckoning for help,
To break away from the dome,
It's a maze,
He's in a daze,
He cries again,
His voice is stifled,
His will is strangled,
Once and for all.
