Drama is Universal
We’re living a play
not a commercial;
no matter the stage,
drama is universal.
Any plat that you got
matters not,
don’t mean squat;
there’s no option,
exemption,
you must pay
for redemption.
Pray in vain
for dispersal
you can’t hide.
Universal!
From outhouse to penthouse,
the White House to my house,
that flow -
it don’t stop, it won’t stop, it can’t stop
when we’re deep in the ground,
it’ll be still going ‘round.
If there’s existence
there’s resistance:
from your kind,
from your hood;
there’s persistence, assistance -
never mind,
it’s all good.
Don’t fancy yourself
the dramatic kind?
Crap you face daily
wreck your peace of mind?
Well, endure it you shall
for that is your lot,
you may someday be grateful
for the lot that you got.
So for now, don’t be hateful,
don’t mess up the plot,
or do something fateful
in some barren spot.
Just know in each act,
you’ll be given a cue:
if your lines you forget
just remember — be you!
When it’s time for your ‘Action!’
let it do what it do;
who knows, a red rose
may be handed to you.
In the play called your life
don’t get stuck in rehearsal;
hit the stage, take your bow,
drama is universal.
