What you see on the outside
is only half of my whole
if you want to see the other
you must look past my skin and bones
to look and see the scars that never fully healed
hear the stories they whisper in your ear
follow the advice they give to come across a wall
this wall was built with bricks and cement
to keep you from getting in
I built it with great care
to hide a secret that is most dear
if you manage to break it down
oh, you will see
the horrors of a lonely girl
dying to break free
of the chains
that never had a key
