Everything that you want is on the other side of fear- George Adair

Curls falling around my face shield me from your eyes
My cold unfeeling heart can’t thaw and my head begins
to spin, trying to conjure up a way to forget you. Atlantis
was built so Poseidon could show that his love was as
vast as the ocean, a symbol of his devotion. My love for
you was a puddle in the ground that you so kindly helped
me over that day in the cemetery, where we spoke of nothing
and everything. I’m sorry my heart is disappointing like pyrite
in a land rich with gold. I guess that’s why you found comfort
in another, knowing you’d feel guilty but happy to feel something,
causing our Atlantis to sink like the earthquake that damned it
to the ocean for good. I just wish I cared enough to look for it.
