Mourning dove are you sad to be alone?
Well I just lost the best friend I've ever known
Mourning dove what's gonna happen to us now?
They always say just be strong, but God I don't know how
And the rain falls down makes me feel like I'm gonna drown
And the rain just keeps fallin` down makes me feel I'm just losin` ground
Gonna cry cry cry cry cry like you mourning dove
Mourning dove why don't you fly away?
Maybe you're too much, too much like me it'll never be okay
Mourning dove time don't make it any better
Can't feather my nest, my best friend`s gone forever.

He wrote it when he saw a mourning dove on his porch and no matter what he tried to do, it wouldn't fly away and he said that it was a symbol of our friendship and so he wrote me this poem...and I have to tell you that he's also a song writer so I'm not sure if there's music to go with this or not
