I Can Hear You. May I Write You Down?
I can hear you
All of the souls in the world
 I can hear you.
 May I write you down?

This is what the composer says
 To his subjects
 To her paper
 To their violin
 Or viola
 Or cello
 Or even flute.

 I can hear you
 All of your sadness
 All of your love
 All of your hope
 And joy
 And hate
 May I write you down?

 This is what I say
When I can hear a beautiful melody
 Somewhere out there
 That nobody has ever written
 They're always there
So may I write them down?

 In order to glorify
 That most special being
Who I owe my life to
 May I write them down?
 To show others the way
 To the glorious man?

 May I write them down?
To show the world my feelings
 The song of my soul
And the song of others' souls?
 Because everybody has a song
 Hidden somewhere inside them
 May I write them down?

 I can hear you.
Please let me listen to you.
Please let me feel your emotion.
 Please let me...
 Let me write you down
 May I write you down?
 I can hear you.
