the sum of my parts is equal to more than
the circumference of my waist line
the value of my age
the Xs or Ys in my chromosomes
or the angles of my depression

I am not greater than
and I am not less than

I am congruent with you and your line segment
just going in a different direction
on the exact same plane


The author's comments:
I think what inspired me to write this little poem was the idea that everything in modern society is remarkably... wishy-washy, if I may use vernacular.
Math, on the other hand. Math is consistent! (Except when it's not. But shh, poetry at work.)
