I Am Not a Statistic
I Am Not a Statistic
My friend told me about an article
It dealt with cliques and statistics
Of high school students
Statistics show that teens who wear black
Are desperate for attention
It’s not like black looks good
Or goes with everything
Statistics show that Dr.Martens shoes
Are symbols of violence
It’s not like they are stylish or comfy
It’s because they show I just want to kick your a**
These statistics relate to a group
Known as outsiders
Statistics show that teens of the clique
Are violent and depressed
That they are there to cause a problem
God, I must be such a rebel
Just sitting there behaving
I’m just so intimidating with my books and drawing utensils
So according to this Doctor
I love being stared at
I enjoy having my happiness questioned
And I enjoy being ridiculed
Because it’s important people like you
With a “der” in front of your name
That people will listen to
But when I speak
All they see is an attention starved manic depressive
Well I will have you know
I am not an outsider
I am a free thinker
An individual if you will
And I am not part
Of your f**king statistics!
