When I speak to him,
he is casting my heart into disarrays
and he is watering a grainy desert

When I listen to him,
he throws my heart into my throat
and shakes me alert to my roaring pulse

When I hear him,
my spectrum blacks out
but I am just as familiar with my surroundings
as the blind man stroking the writing on the walls
