"Three can keep a secret, if two of them are dead."- Benjamin Franklin

I caught the scent of tombs,
as we stood in somber silence,
when the morning rose for you.

I never truly realized that you
would go to the everlasting tombs.
But what confirmed it, was the darkening silence.

In the gravestone worthy silence,
we piled flowers on top of you,
among those weeping tombs.

With dripping silence in the tombs, we didn’t want to leave you.

This poem form is called a Tritina. It has three repeating words and three stanzas. The last line is called an envoy, and repeats the three words in whatever order the writer desires.
