Capped
It's been a long day,
friends are a dead end,
and I'm angry,
lost,
dying inside.
I turn the key in,
the door,
blow out my stomach,
release it.
Walk through the door.
I come to eat,
uplifted,
a cap on the bottle.
Try and make conversation,
purple potatoes.
Across the table
mom's face drops.
I throw in a compliment,
she starts preaching,
the cap loosens.
Blow out my stomach,
release it.
She repeats angry now,
the cap falls off.
