Handprints in the sand.
Fingertips lying left in the coastline.
Lifelines traced into the face of creation.
Memories left for others to ponder.

A pail and shovel on a cold summers day.
The remnants of a sand dynasty left under siege by the high tide.
Childhood architecture becoming part of the earthly structure once again.
Innovation turning into a ruin for others to observe.

A multi-colored ball lying in a bunch of sea shrub.
The indents of its kaleidoscope face across the horizon followed by footprints.
Marks of play and pain from a scrapped knee.
Adventures left in a watery grave.

An old beach towel with faded colors swept into the sea.
Taking the scent of youth to the old man on the water.
Where he can use it to bait his line.
And cast his hook for another summer dream.
